The introduction of Drake’s Deception, on the other hand, foregoes the series’ trademark larger-than-life action in favour of a good old-fashioned bar brawl. Whenever you think of Uncharted, you might imagine robbing ancient tombs or hurling as many explosives as you can in explosive scenes. However these longtime friends ultimately make up, and it’s their believable connections that allow us to get emotionally immersed in their troubles. During heated moments, tempers flare, threats are uttered, and tension is palpable. Drake, Sully, and the supporting characters have realistic animation that makes them appear nearly genuine, and their witty conversation adds to this impression. Rather, it’s the genuine representation of characters, with their vibrant back-and-forth debates and sarcastic quips, that makes you care about the story. The tale has many of the same themes as past installments, twists, and camaraderie-though the plot’s nuts and bolts haven’t been one of Uncharted’ s great strengths. ![]() Nathan Drake in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is back in pursuit of hidden wealth in an unknown realm. Is it feasible to have unrealistic expectations? Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was a massive improvement over the previous game in the series, and it’s easy to fall into the trap of expecting that the same gains would be made in each following release. Almost every piece demonstrates the attention and workmanship that the series is known for.
